The short version

  • Crescive writes training plans. It is not medical advice and we are not your coach.
  • Climbing and training can cause serious injury or death. You accept that risk when you use Crescive.
  • You need to be 18 and fit to train.
  • Your training data is yours. The method behind the plan is ours.
  • Crescive is free right now.

What Crescive does, and what it does not do

Crescive takes what you log, calculates your training load, and writes weekly targets based on that. It tracks how fast your load is climbing and flags when you are ramping up faster than your body has adapted to.

We are not doctors or physiotherapists. Crescive is not a medical device and does not give medical advice. It reads the numbers you give it and nothing else. It cannot see you climb or examine you, and does not know if you are in danger of getting injured.

A prescription is what the model expects a normal week to look like for you. It is only a guideline. If something hurts, stop and get it assessed by someone qualified before training or climbing again.

If you are returning from injury or training through pain, work with a physiotherapist or a coach. Crescive is not built for that.

Training carries risk

Climbing and strength training can cause serious injury and, in some circumstances, death. By using Crescive you confirm that you understand this and accept that risk.

You also confirm that you are fit to train, and that no medical condition or existing injury makes the training Crescive prescribes unsafe for you. If you are unsure, get medical clearance before you start. If that changes while you are using Crescive, stop and get assessed.

Crescive is designed to monitor how quickly your training load rises, so you can make informed decisions about your training. It does not reduce injury risk. The ACWR figure is calculated from what you log, so it is an estimate built on your own reporting and not a measurement taken from your body. If what you log is wrong or incomplete, what Crescive prescribes will be wrong with it. You can get injured even though you are training within loads the model considers acceptable.

Crescive plays no part in how, when or where you train. You are responsible for deciding whether to train, what to train, and when to stop. So far as the law allows, we are not liable for injury, death or other loss arising from that decision or from the way you train.

You need to be 18

Crescive prescribes physical load, so you must be 18 or over.

If we become aware that an account belongs to someone younger, we will delete it.

Your account

One account per person. Do not share your login credentials.

Keep your password confidential and keep your email address current, since we use it both to contact you and to restore access to your account.

You are responsible for activity under your account. If you believe someone else has accessed it, notify us at post@crescive.app as soon as you become aware. You are not responsible for activity that occurs after you have notified us.

How you may use Crescive

Crescive is for your own training.

Do not attempt to access another person's account. Do not extract data from Crescive by automated means. Do not resell or redistribute Crescive's output. Do not reverse engineer the app or the method behind it.

If you breach this section we may suspend or close your account. If we do, we will tell you why.

If a third party brings a claim against us arising from your breach of this section, you will cover our reasonable costs in defending it.

Who owns what

Your training history, your notes, recovery logs and your test results are yours. We do not claim ownership of anything you log, and you can download your training history from your profile at any time.

The app itself is ours. So is the method behind it: the load model, the way targets are written, the block structure and the text the app produces. Using Crescive gives you permission to use it. It does not give you rights in how it works.

We use training data to check that the load model behaves correctly. That work runs on aggregated figures that cannot be traced back to any person. We do not use your identifiable training data to build anything else, and we do not sell it. The privacy policy sets out exactly what we hold and why.

Crescive is free right now

There is no charge and you do not need to add any payment details. If we start charging in the future, we will notify you well in advance.

If it breaks

Crescive runs on services we do not control, including our hosting, database and sign-in providers. We are not liable for their outages, changes or failures.

We do not promise a level of uptime. We may change how features work, and we may retire one, though not without notice if it holds your data or your plan depends on it. Crescive may have bugs and may occasionally be down. It is provided as is, and we do not promise it will be free of errors or that its output suits any particular purpose.

When you delete your account, the data is gone. We cannot restore anything you delete by accident, or recover data lost through a fault in the services above.

Where our responsibility ends

We are liable for loss we cause by breaching these terms or by failing to take reasonable care.

So far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss that was not foreseeable, for loss caused by events outside our reasonable control, for loss arising from your own breach of these terms, or for loss arising from how you choose to train. Nor are we liable for lost data, lost training history, missed training, lost performance, or any indirect or consequential loss.

We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, or for fraud. Nothing in these terms removes a mandatory right you have as a consumer.

Ending your account

You can stop using Crescive at any time. To delete your account and everything in it, email post@crescive.app.

We may close your account if you breach these terms. Short of that, we will not close an active account without telling you first and giving you time to export your data.

Changes to these terms

We will change these terms as Crescive changes. When something changes that affects you, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.

If you do not want to accept a change, you must close your account.

If part of these terms fails

If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, that part is removed and the rest remains in force.

We may transfer these terms to another company if Berg Climbing is restructured or sold. Your rights are unaffected. You may not transfer your account to someone else.

These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between us about your use of Crescive.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by Norwegian law.

If you are resident in another country, that does not deprive you of the mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country.

If we get it wrong

Tell us first, at post@crescive.app. We would rather resolve a complaint directly.

If we cannot resolve it between us, you can take it to the Norwegian Consumer Council:

Forbrukerrådet
forbrukerradet.no

For anything about your personal data, the privacy policy has the route to Datatilsynet and to the authority where you live.
